Data Services, Inc. Updates International Address Hygiene Software, Adds UK NCOA License
Salisbury, MD July 19, 2010
Data Services, Inc., a leading supplier of US, Canadian, and International data
processing and enhancement services, today announced that it has completed the
first of its two-phase international address hygiene software update. In
addition, Data Services has also announced its new status as a full United
Kingdom National Change of Address (UK NCOA) licensee.
"Since our inception in 1967, Data Services has been the leading innovator in
the field of international address correction and verification services,"
stated Data Services' President/CEO Jerry Messer, "this update is simply the
latest step forward in our ongoing commitment to provide our clients with the
highest quality output on the market." Data Services international data
cleansing services are utilized to correct and validate deliverability for
postal address data from 240 countries and territories across the globe.
Messer continued, "Phase One of this update has added delivery point
verification capabilities for over 20 international markets where only
city-level verification was previously possible." Organizations mailing to
countries like South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Spain, Italy, and Portugal who
work with Data Services will now have an even greater ability to ensure the
accuracy and deliverability of their international direct mail postal data.
"Direct marketers who follow best-practice methodology know that utilizing
address hygiene services saves them untold sums of money due to the elimination
of wasted costs of producing and mailing pieces containing bad and
undeliverable address data found within most if not all marketing databases."
In related news, Data Services also announced that is has been granted a full
UK NCOA license from Royal Mail to offer both the NCOA Update and Suppression
Services. "NCOA has always been the best way to keep track of your best clients
and prospects who have moved or changed their postal address" stated Messer.
"Bringing this service in-house will allow us to offer this service to our
clients at the best value possible." The UK NCOA Update Service utilizes mover
data from Royal Mail to identify those individuals within a marketing database
who have moved and replace the old record with an updated one containing the
new postal address. The UK NCOA Suppress Service replaces the old Royal Mail
USS service and contains only data sourced from the Royal Mail Redirection
service and is therefore fully verified. The UK NCOA Suppress Service also
provides "return reason" flags which denote whether the record is a result of
an address move or if the individual is deceased.
Mailing prospective customers at an address where they no longer live is
wasteful and costly. Poorly maintained data consistently generates high levels
of "Gone Away" returns, reduces return on investment and potentially harms
brand image. Using Royal Mail's NCOA Update or Suppress options along with Data
Services' international data hygiene and merge/purge services will ensure that
you eliminate unnecessary costs and increase your return on investment.
The second phase of Data Services international data hygiene software update is
due to be completed in the next month or so. This phase will enhance Data
Services capabilities to process multi-byte data, and allow for additional
processing of address data in non-roman character sets covering major markets
in Asia and across the globe.
